Job Responsibilities:
As a Technical Support Engineer at Cloudera, you will be responsible for:
- Providing remote technical support for break-fix issues and operational guidance to both internal and external customers through cases via Zoom, phone, and case updates.
- Practicing active listening to understand customer issues and their impact on the business, driving urgent resolution.
- Learning new technology and soft skills to effectively support customers.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams like engineering, product management, and quality assurance to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
- Setting and managing customer expectations with a friendly and collaborative approach to achieve high customer satisfaction.
- Offering proactive support by creating Knowledge Base articles and Community posts.
- Documenting and tracking customer interactions, issues, and resolutions using the support ticketing system.
- Participating in occasional weekend and holiday on-call duty.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills, capable of diagnosing and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Proven experience as a Technical Support Engineer or similar role, preferably in a software or technology company.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical customers effectively.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Experience with support ticketing systems.
- Willingness to continuously learn and stay updated on new technologies and industry trends.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and networking concepts.
- Strong understanding of Linux, databases, or programming concepts.
- Knowledge of Hadoop stack components such as HDFS, Hive, and Impala is a plus.
