Job Description:
The Applications Development Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for contributing to the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in collaboration with the Technology team. The primary goal of this role is to actively participate in applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize understanding of applications development procedures and concepts, alongside basic knowledge of other technical areas, to identify and define necessary system enhancements.
- Identify and analyze issues, provide recommendations, and execute solutions.
- Apply knowledge of business processes, system procedures, and industry standards to resolve complex issues.
- Analyze information and exercise evaluative judgment to propose solutions and enhancements.
- Perform testing and debugging, use script tools, and write basic code based on design specifications.
- Assess the relevance of similar experiences and evaluate options in cases not covered by established procedures.
- Develop a working understanding of Citi’s information systems, procedures, standards, client-server application development, network operations, database administration, systems administration, data center operations, and PC-based applications.
- Appropriately evaluate risk in the decision-making process, with a strong focus on the firm’s reputation and the protection of Citigroup, its clients, and assets. This includes compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adherence to policy, ethical judgment regarding personal behavior and business practices, and transparent handling of, managing, and reporting control issues.
Qualifications:
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in programming and debugging for business applications.
- Working knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
- In-depth knowledge of the specific business area related to application development.
- Familiarity with various programming languages.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
