Position Responsibilities:
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods (such as forming, stamping, machining, and heat treatment), machine tools, cutting tools, fluids, instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems. Proficiency in surface finishes, coatings, sealants, paints, bonding, and grounding is essential. Responsibilities include developing plans for assembling aircraft structural components, systems, and payloads, contributing to work instruction creation for component/system installation, and assisting in developing efficient process sequences. The role involves creating installation plans using tools like CAPP, MES, Teamcenter, and Enovia, formulating testing and inspection strategies, conducting process audits, implementing standardized work instructions, and enhancing assembly processes. Safety protocols, FOD prevention, and non-conformance issue resolution are also part of the role. Active involvement in manufacturing plans execution, technical issue resolution, Lean principles application, and adherence to quality management system requirements is expected. Critical thinking and innovative problem-solving are key aspects.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Up to 1 year of experience in a production/manufacturing engineering planning role.
- Preferred background in aerospace manufacturing/assembly planning.
- Familiarity with Aerospace Manufacturing, Fabrication, Assembly Processes, and Technologies.
- Experience in crafting manufacturing plans and authoring assembly work instructions.
- Proficiency in interpreting General Drawings & Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- In-depth knowledge of Aerospace Materials and Processes.
- Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems such as CAPP and MES, along with PDM.
- Working familiarity with CATIA/NX Modeling software.
- Highly desirable experience with Boeing products/commercial aircraft platforms.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
Typical Education & Experience:
Education and experience typically gained through a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Production or Equivalent), along with around 0 to 1 year of relevant work experience, or an equivalent blend of technical education and practical exposure.
