Responsibilities:

Data Architectures: Develop scalable and efficient data architectures using on-premises technologies like Hadoop, Impala, Hive, and Spark.
Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and propose new technologies and strategies to enhance software system performance, scalability, and reliability.
Data Pipeline: Construct data pipelines and compute tiers operating on Hadoop and Impala/Spark.
Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews and provide guidance to the team to improve code quality.
Project Leadership: Lead large-scale projects from concept to release.
Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership in engineering processes, applications, systems, and software development methodologies.
Mentorship: Act as a technical resource for team members and mentor junior engineers.
Collaboration: Collaborate with partner teams across Mastercard to deliver high-quality solutions meeting business needs.
Code Quality: Ensure that code is well-designed, maintainable, and complies with best practices and standards.
Engineering Practices: Contribute to the evolution of engineering practices within a self-organizing scrum-sized team.

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Software Development: Experience in full-stack software development with a focus on data-driven applications.
On-Premise Technologies: Proficiency in on-premise scale-out technologies, including Hadoop, Impala, Hive, and Spark.
Database and SQL: Strong knowledge of database technologies and proficiency in SQL.
Programming: Proficiency in advanced object-oriented programming.
Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Mentorship: Ability to mentor and lead junior team members.
